A Fighter for Justice

“Blessed are they who fight for their rights for they shall be understood.”

Malala Yousafzai is a 17 year old individual  who fought for girl’s education. When she started fighting for her rights, she knew that there were risks on her life, that people would go as far as torture and execution. She was shot in the head, but she still managed to survive. As she was fighting for education rights, people slowly realized what she was trying to show them. We chose to institute this beatitude because we believed that her rights should be looked upon and considered.

“Blessed are those who sacrifice, for they shall bring peace to the Kingdom of God.”

Explanation: This was inspired by our national hero, Jose Rizal. As we all know, Jose Rizal was willing to sacrifice his life in order for the Philippines to obtain peace and liberty. Even though he knew his life was at stake, he still continued to fight for his country’s freedom. He was known as an iconic Filipino patriot for his immense love for his country to the point that he was willing to end his life for the sake of the citizens of the Philippines. He displayed the best example of Nationalism, which is dying for your country.

Walter Elias (Walt Disney)

Blessed are the creative for they shall bring joy to others.

We came up with this beatitude because Walt Disney has been very creative with the cartoons that he has made. Many people watch these cartoons and they are entertained by many of his creations. The word Disney is now synonymous to family entertainment. He has brought happiness to many people, young and old.

Jose Rizal

Blessed are the courageous: for they shall have an honorable memory

We thought of this beatitude because Jose Rizal is a popularly known hero. He is also known for his novels like Noli Me Tangere which helped spread nationalism to the Filipinos. He wrote these books regardless of the consequences that took his life for the sake of his country. Because of his sacrifice, he is known as one of the Philippines’ national heroes.
